I was free to do some fishing today and luckily so was castaway300. There was nowhere else I wanted to be today, I wanted to fish Chocolate. We met up at Lutes and headed straight for Chocolate Bay. We made our way towards an area between Alligator Point and Long Reef, turned the motor off and made one of the longest drifts I think either of us have ever been a part of (about 16 red channel markers). We traversed the maze of spoils/reefs and landed a few fish here and there. The action was at its best as we neared and passed Nymph Point. We caught several speckled trout. We both hooked a blackjack 21" (my personal best - thank you). Too bad we weren't fishing a tournament with a blackjack catagory. Castaway landed a nice redfish and I hooked a small flounder.
Today, I learned some useful information and did not have to tear up the bottom of my boat to do so. Castaway, thanks for another good day of fishing and as always, the great conservations.
