  • Farther up the bayou....

I was thinking about taking a kayak trip tomorrow, but i dont feel like yacking 100 miles to any good spot in chocolate. I was just curious if the reds are up a couple hundred yards or so into the bayou or if it could possibly be a top water bite in there as well.

Both! You also might stick some flounder on the side of the bayou that the boat ramp is on.Key on the grass in the water.

Where are thinking of putting in at?

I would put in at Lutes and fish both shorelines of the bayou from Lutes on up until you decide you have gone to far. Keep your bait tight to the shoreline for reds and flounder.

Yeah. Up the bayou is the place to go with these conditions.

There are lot's of gators up Chocolate Bayou. Just like Hall's. I would never yak in Hall's - maybe inland CB... one day....

the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

As soon as I get my jon boat back, I am going to crank some upper bayou shorelines.

Hey, I'm new down here. Are there any gators in the Titlum Tatlum area? I'm probably kayaking there this weekend.

Yeah ive always been alittle worried about coming up on some gators in the kayak. Since the ol' man wont let me use his boat i guess im going to have to get a jon boat and go scout!
