I fish and wakeboard. Its funny to me, when Im in my fishing boat all of yall will wave, but when im in a ski baot all yall do is look the other way. I have been on both sides of the fence. Have you??? I love fishing, but I also love wakeboarding. We have the up most respect for fishermen, when we are wakeboarding, but do you respect what your surroudings are??? We are people just like you, but for some we love two different things.

I don't believe any of us have anything against people who wakeboard, or ski, or even own a ski boat.
BUT, why can't you guys move down the bayou a bit? Why do you guys have to throw the big *** wake in front of the ramp, lift, and gas pump? I have seen WAY to many times a boat pulling a boarder, come around the corner, and not even consider giving way OR slowing down.
What are you going to do when you hit another vessel, or injure your guy on the board from them hitting a vessel?
What are you going to do when your wake causes someone to bust there teeth out on the peir while they are trying to get out of their boat?
Keep in mind you are responsible for damages caused by your wake. We who fish just ask for you guys to be courteous. Very simple.

Man I am getting old!! I just dont care anymore. I would rather they blow by on plane! I use to get all charged up!!! I really only get toqued up when im on a shoreline and people cant give you space when there is a mile of shoreline. I also dont care about spelling cents i realized I can not write in cursive anymore. Getting old is not what I thought it would be. One thing is for sure none of us are getting out of here alive!!! Enjoy life get outside and do something!!!

Ski boats belong on a lake not on the bay or bayou

I take my kids wakeboarding on the bayou all the time behind my 21' Shallowsport... But only because I don't own a ski boat (yet- but get ready)!!!!

I have been launching at Louies, on HY 6 several times, when hot shot wanna bees come flying out of Omega bay, under the hy 6 bridge,at speed. There is a sign on the bridge" NO WAKE AREA" but they just do not give a ****. I have hollered at them several times, when fishing the bridge in my boat, and they just shoot me the bird. I hope they are not 2 Coolers, but if they are please have some respect for us fellow fishermen. thanks

I live on chocolate and have been here my whole life. I don't have any problems with the wakeboard boats,jet boats,40' fountain at all that's because I know chocolate bay.So maybe all you complainer's should learn the bay! I do some gigging in the bayou from time to time and the only problem I seem to have is you complainer's flying by me....I guess y'all lose the curtasy at night? :-)

Huh? Not sure what complainer's you are speaking of or to. My comment was if someone is an inconsiderate jerk that wakes the heck outta me, no problem, I just cast my heaviest lure at them and am glad they take it and all 150 yards of line with them. I mainly fish the bay itself and haven't had many incidents of idiots that fly by and wake me-it usually only happens once if they do. My hooks are pretty sharp even though rusty. Two weeks ago, I had two guys pull into my drift and I was able to cast all around them in the bay itself-I fail to understand why some folks cannot see other boats and cut off their drift and then wonder why I'm casting all around them as I drift towards them-pretty simple, but maybe they have simple minds. I call it "Welcome to fishing!" and do my best to generally ignore the unruly and ignorant.

IT MERELY TAKES COURTESY is probably the total message in the post. It is a good message and since this is a fishing forum, most jetskiers and wakeboarders are considered the culprits. I'm sure on the wakeboarders sites, it is reversed.

I have a little 15 ft flatbottom jon boat and when that cigarette boat comes by oh my lord!!! you wanna talk about rocking a boat.
