Headed out of 2004 Bridge with RedfishAssasin (Michael) and FishCrazyDan (Dan). Decided to chase redfish early and puttered around Hall's...nada. We proceeded to do some drifts over some reefs and we picked up some trout using soft plastics. Afterwards, with the tide flushing out the rest of the day, we made a run around to some more reefs and mud shorelines. After some trial and error, we found a productive section. The reef had a nice gut that ran around 6 feet, We were parked right off the gut and casting away from the reef and letting the current drift our plastics back towards it. First cast, I pull out a nice 18 inch redfish. Dan's first cast yielded a slot red. My second cast and I snagged another 18 inch red.
Annnd this pretty much sums up Michael's day...

For the next hour or so, action was sporadic as we honed what the fish wanted. Then...the trout came out to play.
Using an AP Special, I managed 4 trout between 20-24 weighing up to 5 lbs. The bite was very light and sometimes a small tick was all you were looking for. You had to work the baits slowly too. Dan lost a 25+ inch trout at the boat as we tried to Boga it. To make up for it (in a way), he ended up with his first ever slam. So, congrats Dan! After the spot died out, we made another run around to look for reds but they just weren't around today.

Thanks again Michael for taking us out. I had a blast!
