  • Found A Few

It has been a while since I was able to get out for an afternoon during the week. Me and pops-in-law took off yesterday from the bridge around 3 p.m. He managed a nice red right off the bat, but that turned out to be his ony fish. He has not fished in a while and must have been a little rusty, but we have all had those days.

We fished the wind blown open reefs, birds around long reef, and protected water. I managed 15 (only three keepers) reds to 25"s, 3 trout to 18"s, and 5 flounder to 21"s. I only kept the flounder for a nice fry or stuffed flounder night.

All fish caught with 1/4 ounce rat tail lures. The water looked decent out in the bay. There was also a lot of barge traffic last night, most I have seen in a while.

Good luck and be safe out there. Back to work for me for a while.
