My wife's grandfather wanted to fish today so I was no going to say no. So I put the duck hunting trip on hold and we hit the bay. We went by lutes and grabbed some live shrimp and went out to the reefs.
First cast when we pulled up and dropped the power pole was a 17" trout. Thougt it was going to be on fire, but... We fished for a while catching tons of dinks (shrimp for ya) but for never the less. Then all of a sudden ole' pops hoods into a 27 7/8 red and gets it in... Awesome.. (see pic) He landed another 25" and a 15" flounder along with tons of small ones. I managed two reds - 22 and a 25" and 5 trout to 20"s.
After we ran out of shrimp we ran back into the back lakes and pops (flounder king) caught some undersized flounder and I had a few dink reds. We called it a day after only 3.5 hours on the water. Fished mid day..
I love the days out there with him...
