I was just seeing if anyone can tell me how salty the bayou is right now. Thinking of hitting it around Lute's this weekend in my kayak. Also just a question what is the closest launch point to the saltwater barrier and has anyone ever fished it?

Give Lutes a call, 2813931021, Cody, Barbara, or Darlene can tell you.
Used to be able to drive right up to the barrier but its all private road now and I haven't tried to get lost up that way to test for a good stern warning.
Its a good paddle from the 35 park bridge but a lot less from the park bridge in Liverpool. Unless you know someone that lives over the RR bridge. May be too cold for the gaters right now but I would be on watch for them as the Bayou aint that wide there.
Its beautiful up that way for Kayak or a canoe and you may catch Crappie,Bass, Flounder,Redfish or Trout. If you get real lucky a 5 foot Gar can challenge the Kayak"Nobody's so poor that somebody can't get rich screwing 'em."
