Thinking of taking off work and fishing the bayou on Tuesday. I will launch at Lute's in my yak so my question is are they catching fish in the bayou with this warm up and should I go up or down the bayou?

IMHO from Lutes to 2004 bridge in the channel down from the bubble barrier the water will be slightly warmer and deeper.
Tidal movement looks like it will be slightly incoming till dark. I prefer outgoing.
I haven't been since JAN so you may want to ask Cody at Lutes."Nobody's so poor that somebody can't get rich screwing 'em."

I live on the bayou about a 15 min boat ride up from Lutes. Saturday the water was looking good. I could see bottom all along the shore line. Daughter caught lots of croakers and sheepheads using dead shrimp on bottom. Then Sunday afternoon the water turned a yucky caramel looking color on the incoming tide. Had little spots about 6" or 8" in diameter that looked like oil sheen areas all over the surface. Don't know if it's still off color today. I'll have to look when I get home this evening.Hello, My name is Anthony, and I'm a Chocoholic.

Man I hope that's a croaker That's all I've ever known them by. He sure was croaking when I was taking him off the hook.
I love that bayou. What you mean an oily sheen on the water. Plants letting chit slip again?
I think something stirred up the bottom down from me. Water looks fine now. Mullet jumping all over the place.Hello, My name is Anthony, and I'm a Chocoholic.
