  • Saltwater barrier question.

I have looked at google maps and it seems that as a kayaker there is no easy paddle to the barrier. I assume that it is all private property by the barrier. If you launch at the park how far upstream is the paddle?

From the park in Liverpool it's about two or three miles.

Horseshoe bend would be your best launch area, not too far from there.

The salt water barrier is nowhere near horseshoe bend marina. It's probably closer to paddle down the number one drainage ditch to the barrier. Now if you mean the bubble barrier at Ascend horseshoe bend or 2004 bridge are the closest paddle.

Launch at the railroad bridge in Liverpool or at the downtown park in Liverpool.
Pretty goid paddle from the 35 park launch

Yes fresh water barrier upstream. Never been just thought this spring might give it a shot. Catch a red and a bass would be cool. Wish I knew a spot for crappie. Does chocolate have any numbers worth fishing for?

It's been awhile since I've been up that way. My nephew and I caught about 20 while bass fishing years ago. Right after Ike. There were brush piles everywhere after that mess.

Back in the day us kids would slide the 14 ft John boat over it if the water level was right , I always liked using the crank lift that was there if needed to cross !
