After hitting the beachfront early this morning I told a friend of mine if he wanter to head south after work today with his boat we could work the marsh for some reds. So with no sleep yet we worked the marsh just beyond the railroad tracks from bayou vista.
Working chartruses paddle tails rigged on a spinner we worked the grass lines in about a foot of water. We each got a nice red at 23" for our hard work. The marsh water was sandy and full of mullet. Looks like if we hit it in the morning when the tide was moving we could have done better, but I was at the beach and he was at work.
Lots of boaters and jet skiiers so be careful out there.
Had a blast but I am beat now!
