Just a rumor right now but it might be my computer.Wont that be just wonderful.

Check all cables for corrosion...not just at battery. It'll make you computer screwy...work then not work...backfire, sputter, then run fine for awhile, then do it all over again.

Might want to check the spark plug wires, I had the same problem, and it ended up being the plug wires were bad.

Check battery connections. Did that to Me and it was the ground.

Is it an EFI motor? If it is, check that the 12v supply wiring from the battery isn't corroded. If it is, the computer will not get a full 12v and will miss fire and act up at the weirdest times. Happened to me and it was a pita!

It sounds like its getting Hot & going into shutdown mode! Is your water impeller pumping good? I would check your oil fuel mixture If you have separated oil & gas Mixture.(too much gas & not enough oil). Sounds like its getting Hot & not starting again until it cools down again! Good Luck!
