Bad news, just talked with Yamaha 150SHO won't be available now till Summer of 2013. The production date was pushed due to facility change delays.

All the better......I am getting ready to sink some serious cash into my daily driver pickup.

I'll also have to find a buyer for the motor I have now.

Man, I would love to. Blue Wave recommends of max of 150 hp on the hull. What kind of stink could I get in for overpowering the hull? I need to contact the CG to find out more info.

I always thought it was a insurance issue, not a GC one...

He is right, CG tag in TX doesn't matter on HP. I know 3 insurance companies the will insure over HP boats. Progressive, State Farm, Foremost

Looks Like I Am Screwed on the Overpower

My boat is less than 20 feet in lentgh - My Blue Wave 189 Classic is 18' 9" in length

                              Subpart D—Safe Powering

                              § 183.51 Applicability.
This subpart applies to monohull boats less than 20 feet in length, except sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and inflatable boats, that are designed or intended to use one or more outboard motors for propulsion.

                              § 183.53 Horsepower capacity.
The maximum horsepower capacity marked on a boat must not exceed the horsepower capacity determined by the computation method discussed in paragraph (a) of this section, or for certain qualifying boats, the performance test method discussed in paragraph (b) of this section.

                              (a) The maximum horsepower capacity must be computed as follows:

                              (1) Compute a factor by multiplying the boat length in feet by the maximum transom width in feet excluding handles and other similar fittings, attachments, and extensions.

                              18' 9" hull length with an 8' beam same as 18.75 x 8 = 150 maximum hp
