Well... Brought the boat back home, bought a new starter solenoid since the boat was sitting at the shop in line to be inspected... stuck the new one on fingers crossed and click... same one click as the old solenoid. So it could be anything now....

Starter drive shaft turns very easily and engages in the flywheel very easily so thats not it.

Oh wells, back to the shop.

battery or cables. remember batteries cables get inner core corrosion and will not supply enough current to engage the starter once corrosion is in place.

bought a brand new battery to try it out (which imma return tomorrow since the current one is fine).. battery reads 12.5 volts.. tested the solenoid running 11.6 volts (old one is fine judging from the test).. solenoid to into the starter.. 11.6 volts.... the starter itself shows .8 volts. i don't know if the starter is suppose to show any voltage itself. i'll post pics tomorrow. Could be the voltage regulator or starter now.

Thanks for the help guys! Learning lot bout the engine just reading stuff online and yalls advices.
