How about Galveston side of bridge?

Noticed people fishing on right side of the bridge going on to Galveston. Google Earth shows a boat launch and nearby uskands, perhaps reefs. With wind out of South it should be fairly protected and safe for an old geezer like me. Any thoughts? Anybody tried this place recently?

Tried it Wednesday morning, working the string of islands along the shore off the boat ramp. Lots of diving pelicans and gulls. Caught no reds or specs, but I did land a legal flounder to break my streak. Bait shop man pointed out where boatloads of specs were being caufgt, so I'll be back. Lots of shell so the Reds should be there too. Not too far from home, and it's good for prevailing winds. Besides the bridge is right there too.
