  • Windy Sunday- 4/9/18 Report

Sunday almost didn't happen. Got out super early in a protected cove. Simply could not find fish. From 630 to around 1100, all I had were two trout and a flounder. It was tough. Covered well over 8 miles just trying to find fishy waters. I was about to call it a day, when at the last second, I called an audible.
Arrived at spot number two and it didn't look any better. Wind was still pumping and water was a bit low. I unloaded and started working my way out. Ten minutes in, I see birds working in the distance. I take a sip of water and pedaled over.
From that point on, it was fish after fish after fish. Trout were chasing shrimp everywhere and even after the birds went away, I drifted around and found fish. As the day wore on, the fish got bigger and bigger. My final tally for the day is around 60 trout and 1 flounder. All the fish were caught on a Norton plum chartreusesand eel and Calcasieu Brew Bass Assassin on a 1/4th oz jighead.
