  • 7/29: Dolores River

I've been out in Colorado on vacation with the family. I got out fishing on the Dolores River below McPhee Reservoir on Tuesday the 29th. Since it is a tailwater, water was consistently 55-60. Nymphed some of the deeper pools and caught four rainbows and two browns. No pigs but all solid 15"+ trout. Didn't see another angler all day. Sounds like the fishing has been good back home. Tight lines all.

That's a beauty!! Cannot believe no other anglers out and that's wonderful you connected!! Looks so peaceful there!!
Mend left, mend right and keep that tip up!! Water temp was just right for comfort!!

Great fish. Ya gotta love the solitude of mountain stream fishing. No potlickers to contend with and beautiful surroundings too.
