Surf getting there.

mikey01 seen lots of bait out near 3rd bar in galveston and seen a couple trout caught yeeeee hawwwww!

It was pretty nice out there. The wind died in the early afternoon and it was just glassy rollers. Should be even better tomorrow.

I fished for an hour until sundown, got a 22.5" and 26" red, and best of all the first hardhead of the season.

The water was sandy but green and there was a ripping W to E current. Birds working further out and huge slicks with that rich smell. Nothing jumping out of the water though. There was tons of little bait in the water that you could only see when it scattered as you pulled your tackle out of the water. Should be time for that mack run very soon when that bait grows a bit.

Yan, way to get out there and show us. Ready to hit that surf. Might take the boat out of SLP soon to fish the surf, we have never done that, so it would be cool.

Late addition...

Fished the next morning and caught 2 niced sized drum. Morning after that nada. Surf often seems like that. Good if you catch it when it first calms down, and by the time a few days go by it slows.



Got some BATS for the grill, and halfshells for the next fish taco cookout.
