Hit the surf near 91st pier friday just before sunset. Saw a few smacks being caught by one guy, however my buddy and I couldn't entice one. Went up on the pier. I was fishing live shrimp on the bottom, and my first fish was a nice 17" flounder. I kept on catching flounder all night, 5 in total. Only hooked 1 speck, which was undersized and I lost reeling up anyways. My buddy was using a popping cork, and didn't get a single bite until 11:30, when a solid 19" speck hit. He ended up catching 4 specks. We landed a couple bull whiting, ladyfish, and I reeled in the biggest sandtrout I have ever caught 17.5". We only kept the big flounder and 2 specks for the frying pan. I'm gonna hit the surf again in the morning, if seaweed isn't too bad.
