Bill Dance has a saying for all wind directions on his nationally acclaimed tv show, that I believe no one should follow.
"Wind from the east, fishing the least"
"Wind from the west, fishing the best"
"Wind from the south blows the bait in their mouth"

Assuming high winds(10+)................
In our area this:
ESE to SE = best
SW = worst.
NW = lower water
NE = mud, rough bay
True West around to true north + low wind = probable good
SSE around to ENE + low wind = probable good.
True south around to true west = stay home and mow the grass. A strong SW wind down here will muddy up a water well.
