Galveston Beach Surf Fishing

Long time fisherman (Mostly Bass in louisiana and Texas as well as some pier fishing in Flordia with some surf fishing in galveston 18 years ago) and have done some surf fishing in the past. My question to you guys is "When is the best time of year to fish the surf in galveston historically?" I want to rent a house on the beach next summer for a week or more with the family between June-Sept. Which month would be best. Early/Later Ect.

June-August. Just gotta catch that good SE wind for a couple days to make it good.

If I had my choice on when to fish the surf, it would be late September thru late October when the bull reds and large trout run. When the wind lays down and the water greens up, time to chunk top waters! The only problem I foresee in June-August is too many people and lots of seaweed.
