07/25/14 Late Surf Report

Girlfriend and I camped out at the beach after my birthday. Woke up to find a green flat surf. My bubble box died over night and some of the croaker my gf had saved were dying. Got out just at sun up and started fishing. Water was green to the beach, with small waves that we didn't even need to worry about. There was bait everywhere and I figured it was going to be an epic topwater day. Nope. Had a couple of blow ups but no fish wanted to commit to the topwater. Girlfriend threw croaker and caught a few here and there. Finally, I hooked up with fish using soft plastic. Ended the day with 7 fish, gf ended with 4. Lots of fish came late on soft plastic in the first gut while everyone had moved out to follow the green water.
