First trip of the year

Good Friday.Was more of a family trip. The kids had a blast. Beautiful water down towards SLP. Once i saw the surf at 61st i figured not much of a shot. Got on beach across from Rusty Hook, with nice sandy green thought it was gonna be a fish filled day.. In a rush to beat the guys parking next to me to sling first, my canopy fell on my brand new 7ft rod....snapped in half. overcast skies 8am til about noon when the sun decided to peek throuh. No bait in the surf. Never had a hit or an empty hook on my re baits. Took me n the kiddos 2 hours with fresh dead skrimps to land a whiting. Hooked him up and slung to no avail. still, kids had a blast. left at 5

enjoyed just wettin a line, getting that first trip under my belt.
