This weekend looks flat, and the water temp is over 70. Is anyone going to try the surf?

I think it is still a bit early...but...I will be giving it a go Friday. I just wish the temps didn't drop so quickly.

Any good pointers on how to pick a good spot for specs in the surf? I'm assuming top waters are the go here

Bait bait bait. Think of the whole beach as the same...but with some differences in some areas. There are some places where the guts are slightly deeper than others. A few places also sport structures both above water and under. Regardless, find the rafts of mullet or any bait at all and you should do pretty well.

5#er hit a pnk/slvr Spook Jr, about 5:00 this afternoon right off the 2nd.bar. Surf trout are sure strong fish.

The table size white shrimp are in the first gut & green to the beach.

My buddy caught 2 reds, 3 sheeps, and 3 specks fishing the beachfront this am.
