  • Where are the reports from the surf?

I thought all the Westenders would be posting the surf trout reports, of course I understand if you want to keep it hush hush. Plan on being out there in the morning on Saturday. How is the live bait situation on the island?

Bait should be OK-I'd get it at first place I find if I were you?? surf was green and flat yesterday.

Thanks for the replies. So how was the cold was the water at dawn? I am sure the first time you got past your waist the nether regions went into your stomachs.

Water temp should be about 74-yep, pretty chilly.

Used to be Splash Day or when the telephone bugs covered your windshield, was the official start of great surf fishing action.
Splash Day is something else now so I would go by the Telephone Bugs and here the last few days they are starting to get thick.

Glad I aint working a service station any more.

Water was definitely chilly. Once the sun came up though, it was a lot better. Fish were all caught in the first gut.
