Braid???

I have never used any type of braid before and I'm curious if anyone has used it on surf rods. What do yall like to use and which knot to tie at the leader? I have always fished with mono but I would like to get out further with the kayak and have more yardage on the reel. Thanks guys

I use 65 pound braid on my surf rod and that holds about 400 yards
