Why only reds?

I walked in last friday and found a light that had big blow ups. I tried trowing tops and nothing, friends had dead bait and they were crushing the rat reds. I changed to hustler and got my limit in reds, but only kept one for my friend to take.

The weird thing was that there was not one trout (speckle nor sand)..... Any one know why this could be, i taught light was usually a trout thing.

Reds are Bullies, ive seen them run Trout out of the lights before.
