I am new to West End Anglers so Hello, my name is Mat. I am a die hard Wader on the West End. My fishing mentor and best friend Marcus ( Slick Stalker ), and myself have done in the last week what I never would have thought possible. Not only did we hit a Texas Slam for each of us in the same spot on the same trip, but after returning the same area, Marcus has hit another Slam yesterday morning. The excitement of the last two fishing days we spent on West Bay has brought back the fire in my fishing soul after a disappointing summer. Even during the Star Tournament, we grinded the West Bay and very seldom came out with heavy stringers. Was it our choice of lures or poor location? Not sure but with the change in climate and the size of fish increasing already in early Fall/Winter season, I have to say the West Bay has brought me new hope. Using Chicken Boys and Lil'Jons seems to be the trick for nice sized flounder and Reds. Each Red caught in the Slams were no smaller then 6 lbs and 25-26 inches. Most flounder were in the 3lb range. One flounder even blew up on top like a Speck. All in all, this cold season is shaping up to be the best yet. Hoping everyone gets heavy stringers and good luck.
