Keith (Hogie70) and I had a tough start to our wade fishing trip. We started off fishing mud and shell, but there wasn't any bait present in those spots. Moved out to a mid-bay reef that was loaded with bait, but we could only catch a couple of trout off the reef. With the bull tides we've been having, we decided to fish out in front of drains that held bait and we found one that had mullet flipping out in front against a windward shoreline. Throwing plum rat-tails, we caught about 15 trout, 3 reds and a flounder. The trout were mostly 3-5 lbs., and they were stuffed with either shrimp or small mullet. We hit another couple of drains on the way back in and Keith had another red and lost a trout close to 7 lbs. and I had another trout over 4 on a pink corky. Slow start but a great ending to the day.
