I walked in yesterday morning right at daylight with a good high tide and great conditions.Overcast,SE wind about 12.The tide started moving out around 6:30-7 and those fish turned on.Had consistent action all morning.I released 5 reds in the 22-24" range and had 4 flatties come to the surface and spit that sand eel right back at me.Strung 9 trout, had one right at 5lbs,don't know how many pulled off or threw that plastic out.I started with a bone spook, but only had flip floppers doing somersaults over it.So,I switched to the grape jolly rancher Norton sand eel and that's all it took.I went through an entire package of them. Those fish were ripping it off the hook.Even with the good outgoing, these fish stayed put with this bait and were in thigh to waist deep water all day.Excellent morning. This next front should commit these fish to those spooks.Click image for larger version

That's a great outing. I sure went out and bought a bag of those purple Norton's and threw them last weekend but only had a couple short strikes. I've started rigging with a 1/16 jig and have noticed an increase in strikes from trout. Im going to try and get those purple Norton's real wet this weekend coming up. If you don't mind telling. were you fishing the hard sand bottom again or over mud and shell?
