After 2 hunts resulting in 0 birds, I finally got my six.

Our pond situation has not been an option for me over the past week.

Today I decided to hunt there. Glad I did. Definatley a mixed bag.

    3 Spoonie Hens
    1 GWT Drake
    1 Ringneck Drake
    1 Can Drake.

1st bird was a spoonie hen.
2nd bird was a spoonie hen that came in when I was shuffling decoys around in the water.

    Misssed widgeon oppurtunity
I had a group of 12 or more widgeon make a few laps then spun out and landed about 50 yards down the shore. They started swimming in and were almost within skillet range when some dude one pond over sky blasted at a spoonie. Gosh Darn Heck Fooey!

3rd bird can also came in as a single, can drake
4th another spoonie out of a pair
    5th was Ringneck , single
6th bird was one GWT. It was the first group of teal that worked me. Had 25 or 30 pile in. It was really hard not to keep shooting.

    Done at 7:45.

All and All, lots of birds for my part of the country. Did see lotsa pintails none were interested in me. Several cans came by. Had some blue bills almost hit me while I was pickig up decoys.
Almost pulled some gadwalls in, that is something else I would like to blame on the dude next door.

I can get you on contact with a guy that has lots. Its 6 hours away and every morning on one point I have had hundreds and hundreds decoy. Its a site to see you will shoot a few puddlers too. There are a few shot every weekend at our place but this isn't the best time of year to get a wall hanger. I have only seen one large group of cans decoy on our place. Most often it is singles and doubles.

                              Los Hombres??

If so how is the hunting this year. I used to hunt on the club, but got tired of all the sky blasting going on.

Has it changed? That shed in the backgroung looks familiar.
