Teal Opening Wkend report

2 guys b/s'd me at 11pm fri night so I went to a private spot saturday morningwith the pup by myself. Saw 4 teal total, they didnt fly until late. ALOT of woodies. Never fired a shot.

Sun evening hit the coast in a blind we put up last year, saw alot of birds working for this early in the year. 3-4 flights of pintails, about 30-40 teal. Only got a shot at one pair. Me and my buddy both missed and never got another shot. Oh well it was a good time and there is always next wkend!

Slept in late thinking about deer season. Wife surprised me 8am and wanted to talk about new camo and lunch menu. Saw a duck around 9am. Ate Boudin and drove to deer lease arrived 3PM . Unload my *** and her's BY 3:05 PM Shot dove limits until dark. Drank whiskey and told funny stories till dark. shot limits of doves in the morning. Drove home and chased the o lady round the house till nightfall

you got to make the right kind of friends. I'll see what's up next time we go. Going to George West this weekend to mess around with the dove. Not doing to good shooting in my neighborhood. They don't come down my way.

Hell boy IM the right kind of friends to make. I'm just tired of being the guy that takes everyone, the only one that owns decoys, the guy that lets you use his extra shotgun, the shell supplier, the caller, the boat/blind owner, the guy with the only trained dog, the guy that puts in the work to scout, , the guy that picks you up and drives you to the ramp, the guy that pays for the gas, and the guy that wakes everyone up after a long night to get up and go.

Needless to say I plan on hunting alone (w/ the pup) alot more this season

Hey, I have decoys, my own shotgun, steel shotshells, a duck call. No dog, but I can swim pretty fast and won't bite the ducks too hard. Will meet at the ramp with gas money and coffee. When do we hunt?
