Dilley dove hunt Jan 9-11, 2015

Here is run down on the dove hunt Jan 9-11, 2015. We got there Friday to 38 degree and drizzling rain, but to us it was ok, all those that backed out, you don’t know what you missed. We hunted a maize field with brush on 1 side and man there were birds, 100’s of them. Since this was close to the house we stayed in we hunted it Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was forecasted to be low 30’s, but we had a shower during the night that brought up the temperature to a nice balmy 43 before sunrise, the morning hunt was good, as well as the Sunday morning hunt. 12 hunters lacked 2 birds having 3 limits of 15 each, when we left. Thanks guys for a great weekend and can’t wait to have you back next year.

538 birds in drizzling, cold weather is a damm fine weekend! Those are September numbers.

Ive dove hunted in that weather before but I'd much rather straddle an ice chest full of cold beer in the heat. Way to go.
