I got on a deer lease this year and I will be building my first ground stand. I want to do a 4x6. My two younger kids will probably be hunting with me so I want to make it comfortable for them. I was hoping to get pointers and maybe learn from some of ya'lls experiences. I want to keep cost down so I'm thinking about using 2x2's for frame.

I built my own a few years ago that was a 4X6. I used 2X4's and it was a little much. If I had to do it over again I would have used 2X2's. I would use the 2X4's on the bottom to keep it from sagging when you get 2 or 3 people in it. It was fun building it and I thought I would save alot of money but i got carried away and put windows and 12ft legs under it. In the end it cost me more than I wanted to pay but it was a great view from up there and warm when the north wind was blowing.

great job! Just add some scrap carpet and a battery dome-light and a beerholder!! (Beerholder is MOST important!!)"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
