went dove hunting today

I went dove hunting this evening and I guess they are gone cause I didn't see a bird! It was a waste of my time!

The 3 weeks prior to the opening I was covered in doves,....mostly whitewings with a few mornings mixed in. Opening day was active with hunters all around, but after that it has been super slow.
I guess that's why they are classified as migratory game birds.
I see more reliable dove hunting during the second half of the split season.
It's cooler then too.
