Nice Little Basket Rack
Fayette County outside Schulenburg...got up here Tuesday afternoon. Set up my ground blind in a small field with fir trees where I tend to see deer crossing pretty regular. Can see about seventy to seventy five yards in front, right, and left. Got out early this morning as the full moon made it quite bright. By 6:50 I had two doe get within twenty feet. They knew something was up and caught some wind of me making them nervous...they moved off after maybe five minutes. Nothing until 8:00 when he came through the field my left to right. Got the gun up on the shooting stick and waited for him to walk into the scope which he did at fifty yards. Shot through the neck and he dropped.
11 points with number twelve a kicker not fully in. One tine broke off midway. Maybe five years old. Good for around here. Having link sausage, summer sausage with jalapeno and cheese, and the back strap cubed, peppered, and tenderized.
