I finally got my first good buck in YEARS! I grunted him up but he wouldn't come out of the tall grass. Hit him with a neck shot at 227 yds with my .30-06. I am getting him shoulder mounted because he is almost a PERFECTLY symmetrical 8pt with a 15 1/2 inside spread. I didn't get any meat off him because he had been shot before and the front right leg was shattered just below the shoulder. When I went to clean him and got to the leg, green puss and ooze came out and he STANK so bad! I'm sure he was feverish and we ended up scrapping all the meat. We did each other a favor, I eased his pain and he got me "revitalized" and something to remember him by. Not to mention that that I killed him out of my wife's stand!! LOL! Before anyone gets angry, she told me to go hunt it! LOL! I was only in the stand about 15 minutes before I shot! Good times!
