I got on the water at 4 PM and worked my way up the bayou to find the surface water temp at 72. I wasn't prepared for that, so the game plan for the evening was thrown off.
I switched to some faster moving baits and got to work. I threw lipless crank baits and 1/8 oz. spinners around lay downs and inside bends and managed to pull out 4 with the time I had.
Chrome/blue back and white/silver willow blade spinners were the bait of choice today. There was a ton of fry in the water. I'm thinking shad or mullet hatch.
