  • Azz Obama against delaying/changing Biggert Waters Act

The delkhaid POS POTUS is against delaying implementation or change to the Biggert-Waters Act which is one major nightmare piece of crap legislation from an Illinois beotch and Maxine "Where be the Money" Waters. Biggert Waters will affect millions-anyone that owns a house in a flood plain.

Obama stance on flood insurance law called ‘inexplicable’
Posted on January 28, 2014 | By Kiah Collier

Those hoping Congress will pass legislation to delay flood insurance premium hikes for hundreds of thousands of people living in coastal and low-lying areas across the country, including Houston and Harris County, are claiming a cautious mini-victory after a vote in the Senate on Monday indicated there is majority support in that chamber to pass the so-called Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.

The chamber “voted 86-13 to invoke cloture on the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, allowing the bill to move forward for a final vote,” wrote David Braun of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership in an e-mail update Tuesday, noting that both Texas senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, cast ‘yes’ votes.

“This is a very positive first step,” he continued, “but it does not mean that the final bill will pass with the same numbers, if at all. At this point, we’re waiting to see how the amendment process will play out and if any amendments will be added to the bill. Amendments could have a big impact on the final vote. Currently, we expect a vote on final passage of the bill to come later this week.”

Braun, a city councilman in Nassau Bay, included a YouTube link to the classic Schoolhouse Rock video on how a bill becomes a law, reminding his readers that the House must pass a similar or identical bill before it can be sent to the president to sign into law.

The Obama administration, however, issued a statement Monday evening after the Senate vote indicating it does not support the bipartisan legislation.

“Delaying implementation of these reforms would further erode” the program’s financial position, the statement said.

In response, the New Orleans-based Coalition for Sustainable Flood Insurance sent out a statement Tuesday saying the administration’s position clashes with the policies the president is expected to focus on in his State of the Union speech meant to assist the middle class.

The Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership is a member of the coalition, a multi-state group of economic development organizations and local governments that has been fighting the implementation of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, legislation that calls for higher insurance premiums to stabilize the insolvent federal flood insurance program.

“On the eve of the State of the Union, an address that will reportedly focus on ‘the middle class, the economy and economic fairness,’ it is inexplicable that the Administration and FEMA have come out with a statement opposing common-sense delays to out-of-control flood insurance premiums,” the coalition said. “The fact that this statement came out on the same day that the Senate passed an extraordinarily strong 86-13 bipartisan vote to move a bill delaying crippling hikes in flood insurance rates is even more stunning. In this day and age, we should be celebrating common-sense bipartisan action, not undermining it. To be clear, if Biggert-Waters 2012 goes forward unabated, hundreds of thousands, and perhaps millions, of Americans who have played by the rules, built where the government told them, maintained insurance, and never flooded – will lose everything.”

The coalition statement concluded by saying that “If the Administration wants to address income inequality, it can begin by ensuring that millions of Americans do not lose their homes.”

SO THE HEAD-*** IN CHARGE, OBAMA, GIVES $ AWAY FOR FREE HIGH-SPEED INTERNET TO THE WELFARE SCUM, BEOTCHES ABOUT 'INCOME INEQUALITY' AND IGNORES THE CONSTITUTION AND WANTS TO 'LET' 20,000,000 ILLEGALS INTO THIS COUNTRY BUT BUTT RAPES ANYONE ELSE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SOCIETY-I HOPE HE MOVES TO SOMALIA.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
