Tough start on Saturday with storms forcing me to leave my marsh fish for areas that afford a faster escape route. We only Sara few fish after the first spot. customers from Dallas with very little experience just could feel the bites.

Went back our for an evening trip with a friend that I can rarely line up schedules with. We caught 6 reds to about 5 pounds between 3 and 6 on.

I feel for fishing guides hosting inexperienced anglers. You're truly up against it when you leave the dock. My favorite old guide, Capt. Harry Landers of Jamacia Beach used to tell me what a pleasure it was to fish with anglers without having to pick out backlashes and bait hooks all day when the party insisted on live shrimp. He taught me West Bay and the art and confidence of throwing mirrolures and topwaters. Thanks, Capt. Harry.
