Hello everyone!
My name is Josh and I am an undergraduate researcher at Texas Tech University. I need to find 80 live atlantic croaker for a research project that I am conducting on behalf of TTU/Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

I realize that croaker are out of season right now, which is why I am having such difficulty.

If anyone has information, please let me know!!!!!!!!!!

If you can wait a few months until it warms up, then wait. How big do they need to be? Iuse small strait or octopus hooks and i bait them with squid or shrimp.

Contact the bait shop and Sea Isle...let them know what you are doing and I'm sure you will get some great help...he may even take you out to get you a few...who knows

Any of the bay shrimper will be pulling some in their nets, check with them.

I don't know how to target Croaker, but I would think a #8 treble hook with a piece of shrimp on it would work. Any over 14" I would donate to the "private charity of my freezer for future eating", but I will gladly keep alive enough for scientific work...
