Thanks to everyone for the welcome!
My son and I went to Bass Pro Shop in Pearland yesterday. Bought two identical rigs: Shimano Spheros 4000 with 8' 6" medium action rods. The gentleman who waited on us was very helpful and provided much direction on how to rig and cast. We plan on trying them out either later today, or tomorrow somewhere in Galveston.Comment
