BoatUS Magazine, the largest boating magazine in the US, provides boating skills, DIY maintenance, safety and news from top experts.
Looks like Feds are trying to pass a law stating ANY person operating or on a boat less than 18' in length will have to wear a life jacket regardless of age.
I hope lotsa folks don't use them-helps the gene pool!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
I'm firmly against nanny laws (seatbelts, life jackets, etc.) I don't wear one but I'm never far from it.
I undertand that Parks and Wildlife have to go searching for bodies that they normally wouldn't if that person had been wearing their jacket, but this is America and we should be able to think for ourselves. We don't need more laws governing us. Especially nanny laws.
Now children are another story. In most cases they aren't able to make educated decisions and that's where their parents come into paly. But if an adult doesn't want to wear his seat belt, etc. then that's his choice.
There are more people who drown from swimming or wading in water that from a boat, so they should make it that anyone on or in water has to wear one if they pass any law, why just boaters?
