Wow what a weigh-in we had on Saturday with some really impressive stringers coming to the scales. All the rumors are true that you have been hearing about what it took to take home a check and let me tell you I was pretty surprised myself. All right as everyone knows we had a pretty mild cold front push through Friday mid day; luckily the winds were out of the Northeast for the most part leaving some water in the bay system. Temperatures Saturday morning were mild and water temp didn’t dip that much. Anglers reported some tough bites coming late in the day say noon and later. Taking first place was the team of Hurst, Sellars, and Hawkins with the massive weight of 17.5 lbs with their big fish coming in at 6.21 lbs. The team reported a slow morning not catching any of the fish they weighed in until noon. Second place was Mr. Leon Napoli with another impressive weight of 17.3 lbs with his big fish coming in at 7.03 lbs. Mr. Napoli was the first angler to weigh in on Saturday and we all thought that he had it in the bag but we were way wrong. Third place with another impressive stringer of 17.2lbs was Baker / Reuter with their big fish coming in at 7.02lbs. Fourth place and current TOY leaders was the team of Anderson / Stillwagon with 16.6 lbs and rounding out the top five was the team of Pickell / Marshall / Gilbert with 15.91. Big trout honors went to Danny Marshall with a 28.5" pig weighing 8.45lbs, congrats to all the teams that came out and fished this weekend and a welcome to all the new teams that signup on Thursday. Also we want to thanks all the anglers that brought out donations for our Xmas toy drive benefiting the Children’s Center of Galveston, we collected over 100 items that will go to less fortunate families in the Galveston area. Again a big thank you for your donations for this great cause. Our next event will be on February 4th we are taking January of due to the Boat Show, Specktacular, and Fish Westends Big Trout Tourney..
