Had to run to Krogers on 57th and blvd. last night for a gallon of milk. Stopped by academy for a look and bought me a pair of magellan neoprene waders with boots for $38.00 + tax. I lost my old red ball's that I dearly loved to Ike and haven't bought any until now. They're the brown colored ones. My fishing partner had told me during the week that academy had some 1/2 price but young salesman said that sale was over and they were discontinuing the ones I purchased so they were marked down. Price was originally 88.00. Got home and slipped them on and the freaking boots felt like the soles were lined with lead. Damn heavy. I got size 11 as they had like 3 pair( 7, 8, 11). Gonna get Cuddles to drop me off during the week at Indian Beach so I can get in Jumbile and kick some ***. If they don't fall apart and keep me dry i figure made a good deal, if they aren't worth a sheet I'll trade them back for some she dogs and catch 2000's.

I got respect for your opinions as I've read your post and agree with alot of your analagies. Unless I'm mistaken and things have changed since Ike I used to wade in( before people started dumping trash at the cul-de-sac and pissed off the homeowners) on the Jumbile side and walk that shoreline fishing that gut moving towards shell island. it was pretty hard bottom til you got to the soft stuff and depth change and I'd back off and work that area over. When I was younger and had more stamina I would wade straight across to the Jamacia side. Talk about soft mud. Those trout would come out with mud on their bellies.

Jumbile is solid deep mud in the back end where they built all the little islands and up front in the other man made marsh area behind the tubes. Indian at Shell island cove also is deep mud in the back in both corners.
Thanks for the compliment and good luck getting some of those big mud trout!"GET OFF MY REEF!"

Thanks for the heads up, Flatbottom. I remember back when it had 3 or 4 little natural islands scattered around. Brother-in law used to gig a flounder now and then he'd have to fold to get in the ice chest. Guess I'll have to think of another spot.

Hey Harvey,
Sorry I have not gotten back with you. My Dad had a stroke on Friday and Amber and I have been at the hospital all weekend - no sleep. Pretty rough. He is not doing very well, but the stroke has seemed to have passed. Just gettig up there in age - 88. I wear a size 8.5 shoe, so I need a size that they do not have. I will have to get some somewhere else. Need to get out with you. I will be at the A & M football clinic this weekend.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. No wonder I couldn't reach you this weekend. Tell my daughter I love you both and I will get you those waders if they have any left. I wear 10 but 11 fits me fine. So 9 should work for you. You call me when you're ready to go and we'll go.
