  • Anyone know.....

Anyone know of a group that likes to fish jackpot inshore tournaments. Used to belong to a club back in the 90's that would meet at Louis' on wednesday night to put up entry fees and compete the following Sat. Artifical bait only and heavy stringer got paid. Only one slot red and up to limits for trout and flounder. Good way to meet new anglers and fish for a few dollars. This long haired hippie socialist liberal needs to get his gamble on.

Are you talking about the Texas City Anglers club ? I used to belong to that group, some great fisherman. I will ask around and see if they are still a club ?

There was another group that held meetings and tourneys there as well. Randy belong to that group, not sure what the name was right now.

A fellow named Phillip Fosse got me involved. Really can't remember the club name. I won or placed in a couple but the Canalitto boys would grab that big red right before weigh in and grab the pot most of the time.

I was in it for like 6 months. Caught 5 or 6 good flounder out of the wind in Flamingo canals before harbourwalk one sat. Weather was a beach, rain, wind around 25 and gusting. got to weigh-in at Fatboys with the winning string and Phillip disqualified me for alledgedly leaving the dock too soon. i quit that same day. Don't mind not winning but keep the politics to a minimum and FISH.

Never been there but gonna do some exploring, weather permitting. Fished the div ditch yesterday got one good flounder and lost two at the boat. Need some new water.
