before hand because it's much easier before they are put up for whoever is doing it. We used Olympic
5 year stain.
The deck I did before this one I used vinyl rails for the first time and you talk about nice, easy installation
and maintenance free. The cost is a little more compared to wood but they are clean looking and no maintenance.
I highly recommend looking at the vinyl if you ever consider a new deck or rails.
