  • Suspending twitch baits or shallow diving crank baits

What do you prefer to use, a bait like a mirrodine or a crank bait that dives 0-2 feet?

I have been using both and have been having mixed results.

I'm fishing flats and marsh for trout and reds feeding on shad.

So I am using a shad pattern crank bait or a mud fish pattern.

MirrOdines or something similar I use a blue backed or olive backed with hologram body.

I mostly throw them late spring into summer when the shad are smaller. What do you prefer?

dont think the shad are thick yet, about another couple of weeks at least. just about anything will work soooon.come 75 water temp.tops, tops, tops!
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

Do you prefer the non rattling crank baits or the rattling? I think the rattling cranks work best for reds because it just pi$$es them off and the trout prefer the non rattling.

I do like top water action super spook but I like to cover water fast when I am fishing later in the year.
