  • Prayers please for VJER Vic

Hello Everyone, I have been putting this off posting on a public forum a long time. But the time has come for me to bring this to all of you. Many of you know VJER. He has been a fixture at Blockade Runners, the club meetings, and many of you own the furniture he used to make. He's an old school 2cooler who has been very excited to become a part of this place here. Vic is one of the very best men I know. When I moved to Angleton and didn't know anyone, Vic and Lynne became my adopted parents. He taught me to fish the pass and helped immensely in tearing down the Ghost Camp and rebuilding Blockade Runners. Vic has always been a generous man, and has given to others until he had no more. He's got a heart as big as Texas.

What many of you may not know is that Vic has been battling hepatitis C for many years. Recently he started having problems which caused him to stop his woodworking. In the last couple of months, the complications due to his liver beginning to fail really started to affect his everyday life. The last few weeks have been the roughest. He began to fall down and was unable to get around the house. After a week of this, he was admitted to the VA hospital in Houston. He has been there for a week now and in the intervening time, he has lost a lot of his mental faculties. Today a test revealed that he has suffered from a stroke which has impacted his reasoning skills.

We don't know what the future holds or if this event will impact his candidacy for a liver transplant. I'll update y'all when I have new information.

What I've really come here to ask is for you all to please remember Vic and Lynne in your prayers. Thank y'all, Sandy
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

X2 on what Sandy said. Vic is one of our state's unexpected gems. Godspeed to the medical staff and family, that means you too Sandy.
