  • Anegada Fishing Report

We have been out fishing on the outer reef here the past couple of days. The olewife (you probably call them triggerfish) have been biting well. These are definitely the hardest fish to clean that I have ever seen!

The hind (a variety of grouper) are also biting well.

Well, to be honest, the fishing here pretty much sucked through all of last year. May have been the fish, may have been me, probably some of both. After a dynamite tarpon season in 2010, I only spotted a couple of tarpon last year - and they were not in casting range.

Plus I guess part of it is that, begin here pretty much year-round, we don't feel like we just have to fish every day - we just pick the really good days. Lots of other things to do. It was windy most of the year, and I took up kitesurfing. Yes - I am a 64 year-old kiter.

Anyway, there has not been much that I felt was worthy of posting. I am hoping for better this year.

Two days ago, I ran across one of your old post and wondered when a new post would pop up.

the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
