My dad grew up bass fishing but hasn't been able to go in almost 20 years. I have been making trips up to a favorite lake of mine for the past 4 years and have been trying to figure a good time for me and him to go. A break in his work finally lined up with my schedule so we headed up there for the weekend. We enjoyed bass averaging 2-4 pounds all trip. We caught them on everything; spinnerbaits, soft plastics, scum frogs, skitterwalks, and I even decided to try a corky just to see. Although it didn't work as well as the other baits it still produced. The fish were fairly scattered and the action was somewhat slow compared to usual but we still ended the trip with 30+ fish, which was the goal. I also continued the streak of landing a big ol pig every trip. The past trips I have been able to land some true monsters but this time it was looking like the biggest fish was gonna be a 5 pounder, until this morning when I hooked up with this pig to save the trip. He is the 4th biggest fish I have caught out of this lake so needless to say I was a happy camper! We had a blast fishing together and it is by far one of the most memorable trips I have had. I don't think we stopped laughing once. What a great trip it was!
